Version .0.5.7b of myFairTunes6 now supports iTunes 6.0.5.x, 7.0.0.x and 7.0.1.x
When the UK Government’s All Party Internet Group reported on DRM, they made a number of recomendations, #1 was to call for “Extensive Labeling” of all DRM products. DefectiveByDesign are sending out free label and sticker packs in time for Oct 3rd. Also, join the action at kick-off events planned for New York and London on Saturday Sept 30.

Taking inspiration from Disney, DefectiveByDesign.org is asking people to submit ideas for actions for October 3rd – a “world wide day of action against DRM”. DBD will highlight the best ideas and award prizes for ideas and actions that raise public awareness.
Today we’re one step closer to de-DRMing iTunes with myTunes, a small (50KB), simple, graphical Windows app designed to strip the DRM off your iTunes tracks lickety split.

You should, back in the day (like, um, 2004) it allowed you to strip the FairPlay DRM right off iTunes Music Store bought files just like that; well, it’s been a long time in coming, but a new app called QTFairUse looks like it can now be used (with some amount of difficulty) to dump iTunes version 6.0.4 – 6.0.5….
