The second beta of Firefox 3 is out. Head on over to the Mozilla site to see what’s new and get the beta.
The IE dev team has reported that Internet Explorer 8 will pass the Acid 2 test. Acid 2 tests a browser to see if it passes W3C web standards . Currently Opera and Safari pass Acid 2 and Firefox 3 will pass Acid 2. This will be great news to all web designers and will hopefully end hacks for IE to make websites work correctly.

Firefox 3 Beta 1 is based on the new Gecko 1.9 Web rendering platform, which has been under development for the past 27 months and includes nearly 2 million lines of code changes, fixing more than 11,000 issues. Gecko 1.9 includes some major re-architecting for performance, stability, correctness, and code simplification and sustainability.
The final alpha of Firefox 3 was released to developers today. After this Mozilla’s roadmap calls for the release of beta 1 on July 31st which will be the first feature complete version of the next generation Firefox browser.
The fifth public alpha build of Firefox 3 has been officially released. The new alpha build, which is codenamed Gran Paradiso, features early components of the revamped Places system, a cohesive storage framework that will unify bookmark and history storage.
