Microsoft has just released a new Remote Desktop Client for Windows XP, and 2003. It supports some of the new features introduced by Vista such as multi monitor spanning, plug and play redirection, and network level authentication
“It shows how powerful our AntiSpyware program is,” said Weatherbee. “Not only is it able to remove spyware from the system, but also the source of most spyware. Our competitors can’t match that.”
Microsoft released the final version of its new .NET 3.0 platform.
Some of the patches also apply to Windows Vista and two apply to Office on the Apple Mac. The Apple patches are rated as important but not critical, while information the specific Vista patches is still not available.
The world’s largest software maker is suing the developer of a program that allows users to circumvent digital rights protection from Microsoft’s Windows Media Audio (WMA) song format.
For more than a month, the Redmond, Wash., company has been combating a program released online called FairUse4WM, which successfully stripped anticopying guards from songs downloaded through subscription media services such as Napster or Yahoo Music.
“We found that many times when companies had chosen to migrate from UNIX to Linux, those decisions were made at a much lower level within the organization. In fact, it was often an IT administrator who was making the decisions, typically not using robust ROI (return on investment) or TCO analysis.”
