Hacktivismo, an international group of computer security experts and human rights workers, just released Torpark, an anonymous, fully portable Web browser based on Mozilla Firefox. Torpark comes pre-configured, requires no installation, can run off a USB memory stick, and leaves no tracks behind in the browser or computer.

AG Gonzales Wants ISPs to Save User Data

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales said Tuesday that Congress should require Internet service providers to preserve customer records. Gonzales acknowledged the concerns of some who say legislation might be overly intrusive and encroach on privacy rights, but argued that prosecutors need them to fight child pornography.

Senate Judiciary Committee approves Big Brother bills

Approved by the Senate Judiciary Committee and written by Senator Arlen Specter in cooperation with the White House, the National Security Surveillance Act would legalize the NSA’s surveillance program and vastly expand the scope of Presidential power. If it is passed, the bill would allow the President to act above the law.
